Ayer, el Palacio de Kensington compartió con el mundo los retratos oficial e informal de la sesión de fotos de compromiso del Príncipe Harry y Megan Markle. Pero como el Príncipe Harry siempre ha hecho las cosas a su manera, ya sea en entrevistas notablemente abiertas o con sus muestras públicas de afecto, ahora también lo hace con sus fotos de compromiso junto a Meghan Markle.
Desde hace un tiempo, los retratos de compromiso real han seguido una simple regla: primero el retrato de compromiso formal y segundo el retrato de compromiso informal. El Príncipe Carlos y Diana lo hicieron, el Príncipe William y Kate Middleton lo hicieron, y durante algunas horas ayer, parecía que Meghan Markle y el Príncipe Harry lo habían hecho también.
Pero luego, el Palacio de Kensington anunció que había un tercer retrato espontáneo de la pareja. Los tweets compartidos junto con el post decían “Muchas gracias por todos los maravillosos comentarios que siguieron al lanzamiento de las fotografías de compromiso del Príncipe Harry y la Sta. Meghan Markle”. “La pareja está muy agradecida por los mensajes cálidos y generosos que han recibido durante un momento tan feliz en sus vidas. Como una forma de decir gracias, han decidido compartir esta fotografía espontánea desde el día de sus sesiones de retrato directamente con todos ustedes”.
A pesar de que tradicionalmente la segunda foto de compromiso real tiene como objetivo mostrar un lado más relajado y romántico de la pareja, no deja de ser muy posada. Sin embargo, esta tercera foto no lo es. No están mirando a la cámara, el pie del Príncipe Harry está a medio paso, y el cabello de Meghan Markle está parcialmente cubriendo su rostro. Es una foto espontánea e imperfecta, pero claramente una que valía la pena compartir con los admiradores reales en todas partes, tal vez porque logra retratar la esencia de una pareja muy enamorada.

Yesterday, the Kensington Palace shared with the world the official and informal shots from Prince Harry and Megan Markle engagement photoshoot. But as Prince Harry has always been one to do things his own way, whether it’s his remarkably open interviews or his public displays of affection, now he’s doing it with his engagement portraits with Meghan Markle.
For a while now, royal engagement portraits have followed a simple rule: the formal engagement shot, and informal engagement shot. Prince Charles and Diana did it, Prince William and Kate Middleton did it, and for a few hours yesterday, it seemed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had done it too.
But then after a couple of hours, the Kensington Palace announced that there was a third, candid portrait of the couple. The tweets shared alongside the post read “Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs”. “The couple is so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives. As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you.”
Even though the second royal engagement photo traditionally aims to show a more relaxed, romantic side of the couple, it is still highly posed. However, this third photo is not. They aren’t looking at the camera, Prince Harry’s foot is in mid-step, and Meghan Markle’s hair is partially covering her face. It’s candid and imperfect, but clearly they found it worth showing to royal admirers everywhere, perhaps because it succeeds at showing a couple very much in love.
